How is your year going so far? Are you well in to the goals you set yourself in January when you felt all motivated to make this your ‘best year yet’?
Some of us set goals and initially we are very enthusiastic, motivated and raring to go whether it be to lose weight, go to the dentist, stop smoking, improve business sales, have a career change or finally to clear your life of toxic relationships, to name but a few.
Any of these sound familiar? Yes, you started on your goal. However...

Here are 3 simple steps that can get you back on track.
ONE- pictures in your head
What you visualise on a day to day basis, hour to hour and minute to minute can make or break a goal. When you think of something in the future you create a picture of what you think it will look like. Most people are unaware of this, however the shape, colour, strength, focus, everything to do with this picture will either motivate you or stop you in your tracks.
TWO- what you say to yourself
Your internal dialogue can influence how you feel about yourself. It can either really champion you on to greater things, or it can sabotage any plans of achievement. What do you hear your inner dialogue saying to you over and over again? Is it helpful or would you like to silence it?
THREE- the way you hold your body
Do this: hunch over, head down with chin to chest, now say in a very upbeat tone “I feel FAB today”. Did it work? Now do this: stand up straight, legs a little apart, shoulders back, chin up and say “I feel FAB today”. Perhaps this is where the saying “down in the mouth” comes from when people are feeling ‘off’. Check out your posture, it can give you a real indication of how you are feeling.

So with all that in mind, what have you been stuck with recently? Now follow these three simple steps, become unstuck and watch out world, here you come!!!!!
- Create a CLEAR, BRIGHT, COLOURFUL, MOVING picture with what you will actually see when you have achieved your goal. Now add any sounds and feelings you expect to experience.
- Use your inner dialogue, yes that is the voice you hear in your head; we all have one, to congratulate yourself on your achievement and say how good it feels to be you, having achieved this goal. Or whatever dialogue you feel is appropriate to support your goal.
- Move your body in to the position that makes you feel confident, positive and motivated to achieve this goal. Move in the way you would as if you have already achieved your goal. That may involve sitting, standing, walking briskly, running, it will be unique to you.
It is not always possible to get in touch with our inner voice and the pictures in our heads as they are often created unconsciously and sometimes from years ago.
